Sharp Construction

Kent C. Sharp, called 'Cletus' by many of his Texas friends, was born in Illinois in 1958.

Growing up he had a knack for building and running mechanical devices, beginning with Lincoln Logs and Erector Sets and proceeding to go-carts and cars.

After high school he worked at many different jobs, from repairing railroad tracks in Illinois to diving for mussels in Cedar Creek Lake when he moved to Texas in 1984.

Kent had many dreams, owning a small ranch, raising farm animals, hunting and most importantly, owning a business, which ultimately, because of his work experience, was a retaining wall business. Kent learned every aspect of this business from his mentor and friend, Gene Kelly, who owned the company that he worked for during a six year period.

Kent started at the bottom carrying steel then operating the machinery and quickly became foreman.

The decision to start a wall retaining business was fully supported by his friends and family, who helped him prosper during the first years, until the business became established and respected on the lake.

On June 3rd, 2001, Kent passed away after a lingering illness. He is sorely missed by his family, friends, customers and business associates.

Kent left this world but his legacy still remains. Sharp Construction, still family owned and still completing retaining walls with competence, speed and customer satisfaction.
